Great Idea but needs some work

I purchased one these books for my grandkids and it was a big hit. They loved hearing their grandfather's voice.
BUT I did have to experiment a while to finally get my voice recorded in the book the way I wanted. I had to practice reading the book a few times before I recorded it.
My biggest issue with the books is that the control buttons are right out in plain sight. And it is because of this problem that my voice was only on the recording for only about a week.
In this day of electronics and computers kids will test and push every button they see. The design of these books needs to be changed so that the controls are hidden in the back behind a slide. The "out of sight - out of mind" theme is what I am talking about.
Almost every toy these days have buttons to push. Buttons that make the item do something or change something. Kids are programed to focus in on control buttons. FYI- The "Press and Hold" lock system does not work either. It didn't take long for my grandkids to erase my voice.
I hope the book makers will read this and consider changing their recorder design in some way that keeps the buttons out of sight.
I still like the book I purchased now that I know how to re-record it. And, since there are new grand kids, I actually need to change the recording anyway. However, I will not buy anymore of the other books until they can hide the buttons in the back.

Fun Book

These are wonderful and we recorded them for grandchildren out of state that we can't be with them to read to. We hope they will enjoy our voices even when we are gone.

The instructions for recording this Christmas book are written in an easy to understand format

I purchased this recordable book to send to my granddaughter who lives across the country. The instructions for recording this Christmas book are written in an easy to understand format. My husband and I had no problem recording each page, listening to a replay of the recording and then re-recording the page if we were not happy with the first attempt. The total project only took 10 minutes. We look forward to seeing the video that our son will take the first time that our granddaughter opens the book to hear us read to her!
